Billy Kent -RIP
Our dear friend Billy passed away on August 4, 2020 after a valiant fight against the cancer that had been discovered only six weeks earlier. From the time we first met sixty-seven years ago in Prep School till the day we left the hilltop eight years later Billy was always there to befriend, comfort and support anyone in need. He was an excellent sportsman, marked with a “Never Give In” spirit while playing, yet always displaying magnanimity in victory and grace in losing. A gentle prefect in Siwalik House, he managed to maintain discipline and order without punishment, and in lighter moments would regale us with his singing of Pat Boone ballads during campfires at Dagroo and on hikes to the Gurkha fort. Post Sanawar, Billy went on to a brilliant career with Rickett and Colman while playing golf for relaxation. Our heartfelt condolences to his wife Kuki, who unfailingly matched his generosity, warmth and fighting spirit; and to his devoted children, Karan and Nandini. Billy, the perfect gentleman. Full of life and bon homie. A beloved friend, great husband and father . Loved his two dogs, Buzz and Bruno. A great party goer, hospitable. Also a golfer and a man who lived his life with fervour and flavour. You will be missed by all of us.
May God rest your soul in peace.
