Vijay Neil was a dear friend. In fact all of us, his Classmates have very fond memories of him. Generous to a fault, his lavish hospitality will be remembered for a long time to come.
He had a short stint in the Army and later was into seed farming on a large scale.
Vijay was the youngest person to join Sanawar. His mother passed away when he was barely 4 and his father immediately decided to put him into Sanawar in 1950. He would sleep on the Matron's lap! He loved telling us this story. He left to join the NDA in 1960 a year before our Class of 61 would pass out.
An anecdote shared by Vijay's coursemate from the NDA... So sad to hear of Vijay Neil’s passing. We were in the NDA together! Went on a hiking trip to Nepal and at night got put into a cell after being shot at by the Nepalese Army. Got rescued by the Indian Military Attaché and sent back home! He was always up for an adventure. What memories! Will miss you, Vijay.
Vijay Neil is survived by his wife Renu, his three lovely daughters, and grandchildren. May his Soul Rest In Peace.
