Vinod Chadha born 16.10.1943 in Srinagar (Kashmir) passed away peacefully at approximately 01:15 (Finnish time) on January 14th 2022.
Many will remember him for his stubbornness, strong opinions, and caring nature. Those who knew him better will remember him for so much more. If you were one of the lucky ones that he cared about, you would experience how he would do everything in his power to help you in your hour of need, to take away your worries, to lessen your pain. If he got word of someone being ill, he would go into over caring mode and stop trusting anyone else for the care of his loved ones. Numerous doctor friends, google sites etc were consulted. Because nothing was ever good enough for those that he cared for. He would help out even if we didn’t always want his help. But that was daddy – he was protective of his family till his last breath. If we were in need of anything, all we had to do was ask. He hated to see his family be without. When he was healthy, his greatest joy was feeding his family. He loved to cook and was an amazing cook. Though sometimes we struggled with the spiciness of the food. His daughters will remember their adventurous childhood. He loved going on road trips, making spontaneous changes and stops, seeing new places. For him, it was driving his family that gave him joy not the destination. If he could make someone happy by taking them somewhere, he would love to do that. And gosh there were numerous road trips – in the UK, in India and in Finland. His grandchildren are his legacy. Amongst the 5 of them we can see all his traits. Some love maths, some love to cook, some are as obstinate, some are as caring, others are as adventurous, some are eager learners, some innovators. And the list goes on.
Even though he has passed on, he leaves behind many parts of himself. His passing leaves a big void, and he will be missed dearly
