Asha Tikaram Ponsonby passed away unexpectedly on September 25, 2020, from a stroke. Asha is survived by her husband Ramesh Ponsonby and two sons Naveen and Aaron. Naveen is a Colonel in the Indian Army and is married with two children. Aaron is unmarried, has a Ph.D. in Criminal Psychology, and is a University Professor. Asha and her husband resided in Hissar, Haryana. 

Asha’s mother Mrs. Tikaram was Prep School Matron at the Lawrence School Sanawar from the ’50s through the ’70s. Asha graduated from Sanawar in 1965. Her two brothers, also Old Sanawarians, were Sammy Tikaram SBD ‘64 and David Tikaram SBD ‘66. David currently resides in Brampton Canada. Sammy, unfortunately, passed away in 1995.
