The Batch of ’77 lost one of their own on the 6th of April 2022. Neera (Dass) Gupta 67-77 Siwalik House touched the heart of each one from her batch. Effervescent, kind and resilient beyond words epitomise her traits while her batch describes her loss akin to losing a sibling they never had! She blessed them with her friendship, some of the batch were together as really tiny tots in a school at Ambala Cantt, then moved together to prep school at Sanawar where the rest of us were fortunate to gain her friendship.
She was brilliant in whatever she did, had a great sense of humour and always made her presence felt! Steadfast in supporting everyone in her batch, her vivacious laugh and positive attitude made her among the bravest persons we have known. She had unshakeable faith in God and an ever smiling face with just that mischievous hint!
Unfortunately she lost her husband at an early stage then battled cancer coming out a winner. At Moradabad, she plunged into running a school while guiding her children through adulthood – her daughter Anika (OS Vindhya batch of 2001) and son Akshit, whom we reach out to with our prayers and support are both wonderful children and have been her strongest support. Neera is described as a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. We will forever cherish and miss her cheerful demeanour and pray that her soul rest in peace
