When I was the Dhobi to Sanawar and would visit the school nearly everyday to pick up and distribute laundry - I would love to meet one of the Sna legends of the Fourth Estate.
He was Salto!
Most OS would know and remember Salto, as he was an imposing figure with his size and amazing moustache, and a heart of a gentle giant - all pure gold - a man who could carry a piano on his massive back and kids trunks to the dorms, with equal ease !
As we attended Priya Dhillon’s Funeral - Shonu Mukherjee informed me of the sad news …
Salto passed away in his sleep, after a prolonged sickness. Go and sleep gentle giant … you were my friend and I am proud to have shared laughter and cups of tea with you ….
Zindagi ka safar
Hai yeh kaisa safar,
Koi samjha nahin;
Koi jana nahin ….
Rest in Peace … ~
